I am pleased to welcome Dominique McCaughey as Chief Strategy and Development Officer at Ometz. Dominique joined us on July 13, 2015.
A recognized leader in philanthropy, community development, and strategic engagement, Dominique's mandate will be to ensure and maintain organizational strength, development and sustainability. She will also participate in developing and implementing Ometz's strategic plan.
Many of us remember Dominique from her time working in the Jewish community. Trained as a community organizer at Project Genesis, she steered several groundbreaking initiatives resulting in improved access to benefits, services and representation for low income persons and new immigrants. She then focused on community economic development initiatives which led her to join Jewish Family Services in 1996.
Creating a self-funded unit, Dominique implemented a number of innovative small social enterprises, most notably the Jewish community's first micro-credit lending circle for women. She subsequently assumed the dual portfolio of Development and Government Relations where she excelled in developing new funding partnerships.
Dominique left our ranks to embark on her legal career at the national firm Borden Ladner Gervais and eventually pursued her specific interests in family and trust law at the Montreal firm, Robinson Sheppard Shapiro.
Recruited by Concordia in 2006 to join a newly formed sector of Advancement professionals, Dominique was the university's Associate Vice President, Lead Gifts and Presidential Engagement.
She comes to Ometz having successfully led large, multi-stakeholder teams through transformational initiatives in addition to numerous annual, planned, major and principal gift campaigns.
Over the years, Dominique remained a valued partner and friend having served on both the JFS and Ometz boards.
Welcome to our team, Dominique!
Chief Executive Officer
